Brooklyn Masonic Lodge held its annual Blood Drive in front of the Forney Walmart this past Saturday, June 20th from 9:30 - 5:00pm. Many lodge members, O.E.S. members, and friends and family showed up to roll up their sleeves and help solicit donations. It was a hot day, but the lodge helped keep folks cool as they waited to give blood by providing shade and cool drinks. Lodge members also had opportunity to tell donors about Masonry and the Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. At the end of the day, we were able to collect 49 pints of blood from donors, which is over double what was collected last year. Great job Brooklyn Lodge!!!

On Saturday, June 13th at 5:30pm, the highest honor in Masonry was bestowed on Brother Alfredo Gutierrez at Brooklyn Lodge. R.W. Jim Berry bestowed the award to Alfredo while his while and two sons watched. His wife, Maria, was asked to pin the Golden Trowel pin on Alfredo. Br. Gutierrez then asked Br. Jim Lambright to read a speech that he had prepared, which was very moving. After the ceremony, the lodge was treated to a BBQ dinner courtesy of The Country Smokehouse, the restaurant owned by the Gutierrez family. Congratulation to Brother Alfredo Gutierrez for his outstanding achievement!
