On Saturday, July 10th, 2010 Brooklyn Masonic Lodge held its 2010 Officer Installation Ceremony.
The ceremonies began at 5:00pm with an opening prayer and pledges to the U.S. and Texas flags. Soon-to-be Junior Past Master Jim Lambright greeted the audience of about 50 people and presented his opening remarks talking about the responsibilities of the officer of Worshipful Master and the need for strong officers. He then introduced the installing officers and turned the program over to them.
Installing Officer Wendell Miller, Grand Junior Steward of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Texas gave remarks discussing the need to be more diligent in the interviewing of candidates. He then commenced the installation. In turn, each of the officers were installed. At the conclusion, the Installing Marshall, Br. Ed Kirkpatrick proclaimed the installation.
After assuming the East, W.M. David Gustof gave his remarks in which he outlined his goals for the coming Masonic year. He then asked the chaplain to conclude the ceremonies with a closing prayer and dismissed everyone to go eat dinner.
Dinner was catered Barbeque, along with sides and desserts provided by lodge families. A beautiful cake was also enjoyed by all.
After dinner, the men retired to the lodgeroom to conduct the first Stated Meeting for the 2010-2011 year.
